Our Vision

The Jefferson Teen Center will be a collaborative and adaptive organization supporting opportunities for teens to grow in self-advocacy, empathy, and fulfillment thereby enriching their lives and community

Meet our Staff and board:

Kel Ashcraft (they/them) - Executive Director

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Washington State University, where I double-majored in Sociology and minored in At-Risk Youth and Health & Society. During my time at WSU, I served as the Vice President of the Psychology Club and conducted research on the impact of media representations on societal perceptions.

Now, I lead Jefferson Teen Center with vision, strategic oversight, and a passion for connecting with the teens who rely on JTC’s programs. I oversee everything from budgeting and grant management to staff development and community partnerships. My collaborative and research-driven approach ensures that JTC remains a safe, enriching space where youth can thrive.

In my spare time, I’m a multi-instrumentalist, a horror film buff (I collect VHS tapes!), a gym rat, and the proud parent of three black cats. I’m a classically trained cellist but also played keytar in a band once upon a time - because combining tradition and the unconventional reflects how I approach everything.

Daisy Janes (she/they) - Executive Coordinator

I have been involved with the Jefferson Teen Center since the fall of 2023 and stepped into the position of executive coordinator in October 2024. As executive Coordinator, I work alongside Kel Ashcraft, the Executive Director, to provide strategic oversight for the Jefferson Teen Center and ensure the effective management of resources, programs, and community partnerships.

I am deeply passionate about supporting the young people of Jefferson County to grow and thrive. I bring a positive, upbeat attitude to my work with youth, and prioritize their voices and perspectives in decision-making for the Teen Center.

As a full-time student at Peninsula College, a local farmer in Jefferson County, and a staff member for the Jefferson Teen Center, I am deeply rooted and invested in my community. In my spare time, you can find me gallivanting through the abundant nature surrounding our peninsula, nose-deep in a good book, or working in my garden.

Darian Clark (she/her) - Youth Programs Director

I have an Associates in Environmental Science and Forestry, with experience working in outdoor education as a park ranger. I have been living on the Olympic Peninsula for three years now, and have grown to cherish the community I have here.

I currently design and run engaging activities that center youth voices and restorative justice practices. From talk circles to job training and special events, I ensure programs are impactful and meaningful. I also oversee youth and volunteer engagement, mentor teen leaders, and help create a safe, welcoming environment where every teen feels they belong. I have a hands-on approach that enables me to build relationships within the Teen Center.

When I’m not at the Teen Center, I enjoy making art, crafting, and gardening. I have become an avid gym goer so that I can protect my two kitty cats from harm. I am excited to see how I grow with the opportunities and challenges I've been given while working with youth in my community.
